Frequently asked
What is a waste factor and why do I need one?
Every flooring job has cuts, mistakes, and pattern matching. Add 10% for rectangular rooms with simple plank flooring, 15% for diagonal or herringbone patterns, and 20% for tile in irregular spaces.
Is LVP cheaper than hardwood?
Yes — LVP averages $2.50 – $5.50/sq ft for material vs. $6 – $14/sq ft for solid hardwood. Installed, LVP runs about half the price of hardwood.
Can I install flooring myself to save money?
Floating floors (LVP, laminate, click-engineered) are very DIY-friendly and save $2–$4/sq ft in labor. Tile and nail-down hardwood require more skill and tools.
